Course Description

Cardiac arrest is a serious medical emergency that can lead to death, but with urgent medical care to restart the heart, survival is possible.

Recognizing and responding quickly to a cardiac emergency is crucial. By calling for help and performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), you can greatly improve the chances of survival for someone who is unconscious and not breathing normally.

In this CPR course, you'll learn these vital skills following the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. We’ll cover how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), how to effectively rotate first aiders with minimal interruptions to compressions, and what to do if the person you’re helping regurgitates or vomits.

The course will also guide you on how to communicate important details about the incident when handing the casualty over to emergency services. We’ll discuss ways to reflect on the experience, recognize any emotional impacts on yourself and others, and seek help if needed.

Our goal is to help you enhance your personal skills and response times, all while fostering a supportive learning environment.
